Corrections

We fix mistakes in the open

If a profile contains an error or you have better evidence, we want to hear about it. Every accepted correction is published with an audit trail — never quietly edited away.

How the correction process works#

  1. Submit a request. Tell us which vendor and which field is wrong, what the correct information is, and — most importantly — your evidence. A self-service submission form is coming soon; until then, corrections are accepted through the contact channels listed on this site.
  2. Review queue. Every request enters a review queue and is acknowledged. Frivolous or evidence-free requests are declined with a reason.
  3. Evidence check. A researcher independently verifies the claim against primary sources, applying the same source tier standards as our original research.
  4. Approved observation. If the correction holds up, it becomes a new audited observation on the vendor's profile, superseding the old one.
  5. Publication. The updated profile goes live and the correction appears in the changes feed so the update is visible, not silent.
  6. Audit log. The full history — what changed, when, and on what evidence — remains attached to the profile permanently.

What makes a good correction request#

  • A link to a primary source (regulatory record, court filing, official registration) beats a screenshot.
  • Tell us exactly which field or claim you dispute — vague reports are hard to act on.
  • Vendors correcting their own profiles: we welcome it, but vendor-supplied claims are treated as Tier 2 (official but interested) and corroborated independently.
